Phrazle
Phrazle is a word puzzle game where you need to guess a phrase or sentence consisting of multiple words, not just a single word like Wordle. Each guess, you enter a phrase with the correct number of words, the correct word length as in the puzzle. After submitting the guess, the tiles will change color to indicate the approximate level of the letters, similar to the mechanism of Wordle but with additional variations to apply to the phrase.
How to play Phrazle
You enter your guess: the number of words and the length of each word must be the same as the configuration of the puzzle. Press “Enter” to submit your guess.
Look at the color of the result boxes to know which letter is correct, which letter is incorrect, or in a different position from the word or in another word. Continue guessing based on the hint information. You have a total of 6 turns to find the correct complete phrase.
If you guess correctly before the end of your turn, you win. If you run out of turns and have not guessed correctly, you lose (or fail) and see the target answer.
Color and Hint Mechanism of Phrazle
When you submit a guess, each letter will be assigned a color according to its position and appearance in the correct phrase.
Green is the correct Letter and is in the correct position in the correct word.
Yellow is the correct Letter, but you put it in the wrong position in the word.
Purple is the Letter that is not part of the word you guessed, but it is part of another word in the target phrase.
Gray or white means that the letter is not in the target phrase in any position.
For example, if you guess “HOT HAND” and the letter “T” is blue in the first word, it means that “T” is correct and in the correct position; if the letter “O” is purple in the second word, it means that “O” does not appear in the second word but is in another word of the phrase.
Phrazle’s Tips
Start with guesses that have a lot of common vowels and consonants to “clean up” the possible letters early.
When you see a letter in purple, it is a clue that the letter belongs in the phrase but not the word you just guessed, use that information to try to move the letter to another word in the phrase.
Eliminate letters in gray from later guesses, as they do not appear in the phrase.
Consider the structure of the phrase: which words are usually longer, which words might contain vowels, which words are easier to find letters from. Use the logic of language structure to limit the possibilities.
